After WARRIORS OF HEAVEN AND EARTH , director He Ping returns
with this long-awaited historical drama. Set during the Warring States
period in ancient China, the pic stars Fan Bing-bing as one of many
Zhao women waiting for their husbands to return from the war with
Qin. Two Qin deserters on the run are taken in by the Zhao women,
knowing full well that the Zhao men were slaughtered following their
defeat to Qin. But in front of the unwitting women of Zhao, they have no
choice but to make up a story of Zhao’s victory…
