2002年5月26日，晚上7:30，新宿月台，54名女高中生手牽手跳入
鐵軌裡。日本的怪現象，無奇不有，故事從血肉橫花的集體自殺
事件開始，好像互聯網的病毒般迅速蔓延全國。以自殺電影繼而
探討日本年青人的心理狀況，園子溫對社會的批評一針見血，刺
中死穴，是非看不可的園子溫成名作。其中高中生集體自殺經典
的一幕，與2005年《紀子之食桌》連結起來，一脈相承。

suicide epidemic sweeping through Japan, and the police’s rush
to find the cause behind the separate yet seemingly connected
deaths. Considered Sono’s most representative film, SUICIDE CLUB
challenges Japan’s high suicide rate with a mesmerizing composite
of social malaise, pop culture madness, eerie carnage, and twisted
existentialism.
