Somi and her husband first met as members of the Naxalite guerrillas, fighting for the rights of Indian tribes. After a decade in the organization, the two surrendered to the government in exchange for simple accommodation in a settlement with other former fighters. The first film by the NoCut Film Collective, consisting of three female filmmakers who met at the DocNomads Master Course in Europe, this restrained and heartfelt documentary depicts the couple’s struggle to reintegrate into a society that has long outcast them, and reveals the sacrifices they make for the sake of their children’s future.
