It’s a pairing made in arthouse cinema heaven: Thai auteur Apichatpong Weerasethakul and arthouse icon Tilda Swinton team up for the first time with this beguiling and ambitious pseudo-sci-fi tale about the intersection of memory, dreams and history. Set in Colombia, the film stars Swinton as Jessica, a British woman living in the city of Medellín. Her peaceful life is disrupted when she hears a reoccurring boom that apparently no one else can hear. On her obsessive journey to find a logical explanation for her mysterious condition, Jessica travels deep into the Amazon jungle and its ancient local history.
