In the midst of COVID-19, farmers in India organised a massive demonstration against the new agricultural laws enacted by the government, which put the livelihood of farmers at stake by allowing private business to purchase and store produce. Determined to defend their rights, over half a million farmers gathered at the border of Delhi and demanded the unjust law to be repealed. Nishtha Jain joined forces with emerging documentary director Akash Basumatari to bring us to the heart of a monumental grassroot movement, a year-long protest that demonstrates the admirable resilience of civilians in contemporary Indian society.
