In the turbulent landscape of post-Soviet Kazakhstan in 1993, collective farms were disbanded, and properties were subject to division and privatization. No one has faith that the property will be divided fairly. The leaders have long exceeded their official powers, dividing the sheep among themselves. Abel, a resilient shepherd with a humble dream of securing his rightful portion, faces a gripping dilemma. Should he go along with the corruption or stand up for what's right? Powered by meticulous long takes, Abel is an unflinching debut by young director Elzat Eskendir.
