Carrying the ashes of her estranged husband and Cu Li, a pygmy slow loris inherited from him, Mrs. Nguyên returns to Vietnam from Germany. Everything in the hometown feels familiar yet foreign. She lives with her orphaned niece, who she raised as her own after her sister's death. As the young lady is preparing to get married, the mother-daughter-like conflict between the two is growing day by day. Pham Ngoc Lân's black and white melancholic daydream won the Best First Feature Award at the Berlin International Film Festival.
