Relocating to Iran, the Afghan refugees struggle to survive and rebuild their lives. Their identities as immigrants render them harassed and isolated from the community. Despite their right to asylum, they are never truly accepted nor recognised as a part of Iranian society. The stories are set across two decades – Mohammad, a promising teenage student; Leila, a geographically isolated woman, and Qasem, who bears the weight of his family's sacrifice, are portraits of the marginalised Afghan immigrants and their sufferings on the unwelcoming foreign soil they dream about feeling belonged.
