Art director Faye is a Taipei drifter who returns to her home city Chiayi to take care of her ailing father. Life in Taipei is not a bed of roses; the difficulties in relationships and work have worn her out. During her time in Chiayi, she starts to reconnect with intergenerational legacy. As she excavates the historical memories of her late grandfather, Faye is able to recalibrate her life. With her long-time collaborator Hou Hsiao-Hsien as the producer, Golden Horse awarded art director Hwarng Wern-ying made her directorial and screenwriting debut.
