A road film dedicated to all the independent filmmakers and arthouse cinemas. It stars Japanese director Hirobumi Watanabe as a fictionalised version of himself; a struggling director who travels from Okinawato Hokkaido to pitch his new film at different indie film theatres during the pandemic. A bittersweet cinephilic expedition that brings us to various actual screening venues in Japan and looks into the contemporary issues in the independent film scene; Lim Kah Wai’s new work is filled with humour, satire and an indubitable love towards cinema.
