The Indian city of Agra is not only home to the Taj Mahal, but also India’s largest mental institution. With the city as its backdrop, Kanu Behl’s second feature film is an audacious and sobering look at sexual frustration, toxic patriarchy and lack of space in modern India. Unable to find a girlfriend, 24-year-old Guru drowns in sexual fantasies while violent arguments break out between his family members over space. Things appear to turn for the better when Guru courts a widow, but his dysfunctional family gets in the way.
