Shanghai native Luo Dong shines a light on the lives of the elderly people of his home city with an illuminating film that seamlessly blends fact and fiction. 70-year-old Yu Mei has already divorced twice. Yet, her longing for love drives her to travel across Shanghai every day to a park where other elderly singles meet. An empathetic and mature portrayal of a captivating subject, the film represents a major leap for Luo, who won Best Director at the Shanghai International Film Festival’s Asian New Talent competition for this film.
